Toggle Books-a great teaching resource for autistic kids Posted on 06 Jul, 2010
I discovered toggle books-preschool felt books-from a woman on twitter who sells them and has a website & blog about autism http://www.autismlearningfelt.com (her twitter name is @taless). As we all know, teaching our sweet asd kids is a tough task and many like my daughter have poor fine motor skills making it very hard to grasp a crayon or pencil. I ordered one of these adorable felt books that has activities on four sides..this one was animal themed and teaches 1-10, abcs, colors, and shapes. You match small felt pieces to a felt board, it comes in its own plastic bag with a pocket to hold all the pieces. My daughter loves it! Its something that she can do that helps her work on her fine motor skills and she feels so proud when she gets it done ;-). This is the first real learning activity that she has done so well with and I highly recommend it to all..They cost like 24 dollars..money well spent!
btw: she is updating her site...so you may have a hard time ordering right now..see her at twitter for questions @taless
