A toddler's private timePosted on 19 Jul, 2010
My son has taken a curious road lately. He needs his private time. Now I realize he is only 2 1/2 years old but I find this funny in a way. As funny as him holding up his hand when he wants five more minutes to sleep in.
Sometimes I feel like my son crawls inside an imaginary bubble during the day. It's a quiet and calm place. He can focus and play without interruptions. Yet I always wonder what he is thinking. Here are some random thoughts:
1. He's plotting a way to rule the world. Apparently with his hand gestures, it will be something big.
2. He's building a rocket that will take him to the moon. He wants to drive the Lunar Rover.
3. He's communicating all his secrets with the CIA. We think he's already on the payroll.
4. He's digging a tunnel that will allow him to sneak out of the house when he's a teenager. I'm just looking for the poster to cover the hole (Shawshank Redemption fans).
5. He's practicing his monologue for a comedy show. Something is funny during private time.
So wish me the best. I'm going to mentally prepare myself for what's to come.
