Working From Home: Is It A Possibility?
Posted on 20 Aug, 2010

I have spent many months trying to find legitimate work from home but I have not been successful. It's not due to lack of motivation, that much I can tell you. With three little Auts at home, I need to be home as much as humanly possible. I'm sure you all understand where I'm coming from here...

Right now, I am a Swing Manager for McDonald's. I work four days a week but things tend to get messy when I have to leave for work. My husband will have that "Deer Caught In The Headlights" look about him, the boys are howling at top volume, and I feel like a jerk. Even more so when I am two blocks down the road and I can still hear their screams. Its absolutely hideous and I hate every second of it.

This is definitely not working out for me or my sons. Not to mention the fact that my Customer Service skills have reached an all new low. I arrive to work feeling like garbage and I immediately have a customer yelling down my throat about the fact that her McChicken sandwich has too much lettuce...and she's crying too! Okay...I can tell you that I did not handle the situation well...not by a long shot.

I know there have to be some real opportunities to work from home, but where the heck are they?? I have run across the most ridiculous scams. Some are so bad that I wonder how on earth these "people" sleep at night.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be lovely. :-)

Definitely a possibility. Depending what type of work you are looking for as well as for how much. I would check craigslist daily. New stuff / postings get posted on a daily basis there!

I would definitely look at craigslist...YES there are some scams, but there are also real opportunities as well, especially part time / from home jobs.

Also...

APPLEONE, a nationwide employment agency. You could talk to them about employing you part-time. Maybe 2,3 times a week. I know you had something similar with McDonalds, but maybe they could find something when working from home.

Do you know of any websites? The ones I find seem to be full of scams. I would like to find some real opportunities out there. I have heard that its pretty hard to find something legitimate but I am going to keep trying.
