Specialized Therapeutic and Educational Preschool Program (STEP) For children 3 to 6 years old diagnosed with Autism or Autism Spectrim Disorder A program focusing on development of communicaion/language skills, self0help skills, classroom and group radiness, pre-academic and academic skills. 5 day per week school year pgogram designed to promote successful transition of children into kindergarten by providing an individualized, integrated and comprehensive preschool learning experience Staff: State licensed Special Education teacher, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, State licensed Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapist, Assistant teacher with 30 years of special needs experience ABA principals underlie all classroom activities. Based on each child's individual needs, DIR/Floortime, Hanen, PECS, TEACCH, assistive technology, sensory-motor integration, Therapeutic Lisgening are also used. Preschool content aligns with Ohio Department of Education learning standards Regularly scheduled home visits to help families generalize and carry over approaches used and skills learned into daily life Assistance in linking with and transitioning into local school districts |
