We started as a husband and wife seeking answers to our youngest son’s developmental delays. As the journey towards a diagnosis progressed, we became parents who faced a hard reality, made tough decisions, and, above all, wanted the best of everything for our son. Now that we have a initial diagnosis, our family has evolved into students learning all we can and advocates who are working to get our son the best medical treatment available. We are now a group of dedicated adults, a family, focused on doing our best to make the road another family may travel on the road to an ASD/SPD diagnosis and subsequent therapy a little easier.
Texas Autism is dedicated to the education of families, professionals, and communities about Autism Spectrum Disorder and Sensory Processing Disorder. We desire to partner with medical and educational professionals in our area who are trained in recognizing, treating, and providing therapeutic and educational services to children with sensory processing issues and/or a diagnosis in the Autism Spectrum. We also desire to educate those in the communities around us, so that our fellow citizens will have a better understanding of the unbelievable challenges, inspiring talents, and unimaginable achievements associated with individuals having these diagnoses.
Our mission is simple:
1. Educate Parents and Families
2. Partner with Therapists and Medical Professionals
3. Provide Autism-related resources
4. Raise Community Awareness |
